Equine Care

Like humans, a horses body inherently strives toward a state of balance, and given the right environments (space, freedom of movement, herd interaction, nutrients etc.) they can be effective at processing their own stress and avoiding stored tension within the body.  Stored tension which invariably interferes with, not only their performance, but also their state of being.

Why…

One could say that our relationship with horses is very one sided. Unfortunately for them, it is what we are doing with horses that create a lot of their challenges, and need for support:

  • Shoeing / trimming / foot balance

  • Herd separation

  • Poor teeth care & health

  • Riding technique

  • Ill-fitting saddles

  • Prolonged stabling / confinement

  • Over/under training

  • Diet / Nutrition

  • Transporting

  • Mounting

Horses in balance may experience improvements in:

  • Movement: gaits and transitions

  • Floating / transporting

  • Performance

  • Wellbeing and demeanour

  • Endurance

  • Ease with procedures - i.e. shoeing / trimming / dentistry

How…

Harley’s a certified equine, canine and human chiropractor but not your typical one. He works on the full range of the treatment spectrum, from the physical, to the more energetic/tonal side of things, so that he can best work with your horse.

By focussing on relieving stored stress/tension in its body, which stops the horse performing to its potential, ultimately he is going to make them

feel better, heal faster, and function more optimally.

Where…

Harley is currently servicing regions from South Auckland to Kerikeri, Northland. If you are enquiring about distances further afield, please let him know.

“The horse is a great equaliser. he doesn’t care how good looking you are, or how rich you are. He takes you for how good you make him feel”
